Can you wet sand pactra to even it out some before adding permagloss?

Yes pactra rc paint. I'm using it to paint a blank. I've seen it recommended a number of times on this site because of it's flexible nature.

Are you guys scuffing this before you apply permagloss? Is it safe to wet sand it a little to basically use it as a primer then add more coats?

Thanks Jay.That helps a lot.
Basically I want to get the remaining paint off but still leave a good finish on the blank.

Does this basically look like flat steel wool? I think I have what you guys are talking about but I just want to be sure.
I just finished stripping the paint from a blank using a broken cd as the scraper. Their are little spots of paint here and there along the blank. I don't want to just keep putting stripper on it over and over so I was hoping this gray scotchbrite might take care of the rem

I'm actually drying a 7' heavy right now from Swampland. I ordered two of those and and a 6'2" medium. The price was right so I thought these would be great blanks to learn on. Btw, I talked to the people at Swampland and thought they had great customer service.

Well shoot. In the catalog it shows it in the perfect blue. Stinks that it's darker in person. I definitely don't want to use a St. Croix SCIV. Maybe I can use black and make him a Batman rod instead, lol.
My dad told me that if I found a good inexpensive blank he might have me make him a crappie rod for 1/16-1/8oz jigs. I just might try that 5'6" for that too.

Ok thanks. That kinda crossed my mind but it seemed to be a pretty fancy term for that, lol.
Jim thanks for the tip. I forgot all about checking there.

Good. My blank may snap or my guides might twist out of my amateur wraps but atleast I know my butt plug won't fall out. ;)

The St. Croix handles have the rubberized ring already attached to the cork. Since I'm new I ordered a couple of these to get me started. The handle I put on my first rod seems fine. The one I'm using on my second rod seems to have quite a bit of filler in it. Some came out while reaming it.
The plug, I put the handle on so that the grip went about 1/4"past the blank, then shaped the plu
