One of my teachers at design school said to ALWAYS get the company to sign a nondisclosure agreement at the bare minimum. If they don't want to sign one then go somewhere else or look in to doing it yourself. A friend of mine had a lawyer draw one up for him to use as a blanket form to send to anyone. I think it cost him about $100 but I could be wrong, it was ten years ago.

This one says that has a Jones Beach sticker on it. I don't remember what the other one has on it. From what I've found they haven't been made since something like the 50's maybe early 60's. The one down side is that I've heard (or read) that they were the Ugly Stick of its day. Randy - I'm not sure about the Stone Harbor ones but I'll look in my notes to see what I can find.

I'm looking for a spool of size E dark blue (or navy) and white thread. Not the classic twist just the two-tone with blue every few inches and then white for a few inches. I know that its discontinued but I thought that someone might have a spool they'd be willing to part with. I need to replace the banded wraps on dad's Monatgue boat rod.

Since I am a newbie could you clarify what you mean by fully bearing? Does that mean that the line is tight against the guide? Sorry to sound dumb, but I think that I'm going to try a spiral wrap on my first or second rod.

I tried to find an answer to my question before posting it. I didn't find anything so I posted. Afterwards I continued searching for the answer, and I did find it. Being that I'm learning both how to build a rod and the lingo, its kind of hard to search without reading alot of posts that aren't what I need. Sorry for posting my question too early. Thanks for the help.

This question is for those out there that believe in spining a rod. I'm planning on making a general purpose casting rod for bass. The way I understand finding the spine is to place the blank on a hard surface at about 45 degrees and roll it. At some point it will jump into a roughly “C” shape and that will be the spine. Simplified of course. My question is should I align my guides along

In researching how to build a rod I can't find an answer to NCP or not. Being that this will be my first rod build, I was wondering if I should start using NCP thread or regular thread and adding CP? Is there any advantage to using one over the other? Does it really matter?

I'm looking to get some old ferrules and various other hardware refinished for an old Montague boat rod. It seems as though no one around me does nickel silver plating. I need the ferrules striped of the current plating and then replated. Unless someone know of NOS Montague ferrules for a boat rod NOT a fly rod.

I’m just getting started in the hobby. I’d like to know if there is anyone near here from the forum. If so speak up and if there’s a few of us maybe we can have a meet and greet.

Does anyone have any leads on a good plater for hardware? I'm kind of in the same boat as Fred but I can't find anyone to do nickel silver plating.
