The smallest ALPs Triangular reel seat is the ( TRI-AH12M-B/PG, CB, LT/PG, PG, S ) it weighs = 1.4 oz, Length = 4.03", I.D. = .512". Would I personally put it on a 4wt fly rod? probably not. It does have it's place in the market, IMHO 7wt and above. Would it balance a rod that size? probably. I did just put a 5wt reel and it fits Great.. It would definetly be Unique if you decided too,

I just built up a few salt water rods using cork that we carry ( RG15.0A/1.40/.500 ) It has an OD of 1.4" with a matching Foregrip ( FG500A/1.30/.4375 ) that has an OD of 1.3".
