Hi,
I am looking into making some end caps for rods and photo etching various designs into them. I know I can do the process with brass, but does anyone know if it will work with Anodized Aluminum?
Thanks,
Scott Sheets

Like Putter said just get a seat that has a slightly smaller ID than the OD at the spot you want the seat. They are not to diffucult to ream to fit. I too use RodBond and put the seat on as normal, letting the rodbond ooze out of the hole for the exposed blank. I take a papertowel with a little alchohol on it and clean it as I go.

Well, for bass I would typically stay between 7 and 10 inches for the rear grip. However, it is totally personal. If you are redoing this for yourself figure out where the rod will balance with the reel attached and put the seat there. If it is for a customer or friend perhaps try to get the reel they are going to use and do the same. Or see if they have a rod that they like and want the length

Drop me an email at Bassn81@comcast.net. I can put you in touch with one of my buddies who has alot of experience with their blanks and rods.

Tom (Doyle that is)
SCII is used for the premier series of spinning and casting rods. SCIII is the avid series. So SCII is definately used for casting/spinning.
