Mike thanks for coming by the booth! I heard about the Aero's over and over again. I'm on it but it costs a fortune!! I've got to pay for the tooling we ordered for the new guides and tops. After that we're going to concentrate on expanding the blank line and design new inovative seats and handles including expanding sizing offered in the Aeros. Stay tuned.

Great talking to you John. I was amazed at the rods you had in the booth. They were gorgeous. The Ring Lock spinners will be here shortly. The Asian New Year pretty much shuts down business for the entire month of Feb. We can wait to get them.

Hi All, We want to thank Tom for putting on a fabulous show! I remember what life was like before Rodmaker Magazine and the ICRBE so we really understand what these two forums have done for our business and the industry. We had no real platform to get the word out on our products and Tom has provided that for us and we thank him for it. I had a blast! I was blown away by the new techniques

Hi Guys, Hi Guys I can't go into all the details but this is a totally new product. I have the tooling bill to prove it. We do care very much about the custom rod market so we made sure you would have access to them. Duckett Fishing will be providing the guides to all of our dealers for resale. We had input from several Micro Rod devotes in the business including Boyd & Ken Whi

Hi James, Sorry for your problems with the guide. Is it the NIF or the NIRLF guide? I will gladly replace the guide free of charge. Please send me your contact info to joe@ameriantackle.us along with a copy of a receipt. Every guide on the planet has sporadic ring failure. The new designs with the ri

They also turn yellow over time. We sold white blanks in the past and the color didn't hold up in the sun. All Grip epoxy paint holds up but its expensive. I'm also sure certain automotive paints would hold up.

Hi Mo, It wouldn't surprise me. TiN coatings are only as good as the substrate it is depositioned on. A TiN coating increases the hardness about 25% if I remember correctly. It has been a while since I've seen the data on it. At 400VH for a 304SS ring plus 25% for a TiN coating you still have three times the hardness with a TiN/NanoLite ring or SiC. SS is very soft compared to ceramics and

Hi Tony, We are selling a ton of our NIRLVL Virtus Lites in HI for Ulua rods. They are half the weight of SS and will never ever corrode. The new inshore version of the Virtus series has a very strong frame yet reduces the weight of the rod. I'm told the weight reduction is dramatic. The NanoLite ring is also a perfect balance of strength and hardness that will handle the demanding conditions of

Did you grind the guide feet? If you did you removed the protective coating. Titanium are the only guides that are guaranteed not to rust over time. Our SS outlasts Fuji by a wide margin as proven in our testing but I cannot claim they will never rust.

You can always double up on the cork tape to build up the OD and use 2 of our 3" eva fore grips w/3 ID's (which can be cut and shaped if you like), for a split grip configuration fore and rear with a butt cap or one of our light EB EVA butt caps that run up to 5/8" ID. That would keep it really light. Rocks chew up EVA butt caps but they are inexpensive and easily replaced or go w/our R

The 30's and 40's in the Virtus Lites for Spinning are a definite possibility. Just let us pay for the tooling we just built and we'll get to it down the road a little bit. Thanks for the input!

Hi Guys, Kevin, Thanks for the post! We did change the titanium we use for the single foot guides. I can't go into detail w/o giving too much away but we did improve them. They actually turned out better than expected. One of the few times improvements exceeded expectations. The A-Frame single foot spinning have the same alloy. I can't wait to get my hands on the A-Frame Ring Locks. I emailed

Hi Guys, I appreciate the input. Phil Darrin is working on a Micro guide program as we speak. Sean what you said would have been blasphemy a few short years ago. You would have been laughed off this board. It shows how things have changed. It’s great to see our hard work and a lot of investment in tooling finally paying off. We knew our guides had to be improved and they still d

Mike and Ken, This is not the first time this has come up. We have to remind the factory from time to time on this issue. What would you need to make them better? We have to grind them the manufacturers want them pre-ground. We want to do a better job and I will be sure to send them a message about improving/eliminating this problem. If you could be more specific I would appreciate it. You can em

I love the discourse. I was just trying to make my point w/some lightheartedness. We're not that fanatical here. We've been around the block a few times we don't get all upset about controversy. Okay Mo I'll assume that the TLSG-5's are 70% lighter. Try this experiment. Tape one TLSG-5 to a blank and then one NIRLF-5 blindfold yourself and see if you can pick the heavier one. Then put one in your left hand and one in your right and see if you can tell which one is heavier. Then take out your wallet weigh it with the money spent for a set of Fuji titanium guides taken out and do the same

We don't have a gram scale but if memory serves when we first came out with the Ring Lock casting and fly guides we weighed guide sets and ours were lighter than Fuji's. The SiC ring is heavier than the NanoLite which makes the difference. Mo, I have to date never encountered a like titanium guide that weighed 80% more. Are you talking about TiCH coated SS?

Re: titanium Posted by: Spencer Phipps (---.war.clearwire-wmx.net) Date: March 26, 2009 08:33AM No, they are not the same quality, materials, or weight. You get what you pay for. Hi Spencer, The difference in price has more to do with economics than quality. The true difference comes down to where the guides are made and the rings we/they use. First off Fuji's are made in Japan whe

Hi Scott, The Titanium will not change color. We'll have the new Virtus Lites in a solid titanium alloy back in stock shortly. We got wiped out of the 12 - 25's as soon as they arrived last month. They are available in sizes 8 - 25 and are rated 20-60lb. They are perfect for surf rods and are priced from 5.53 to 32.29 for the 25 MMRP. If you can wait a little bit they should arrive in a co
