Steve, I cant comment on the whole not being parallel with the body, because I have never seen this. As far as the recess in the end of the seat, I inlet my handle into this space. I build my own handles so I just take down the area to be inletted and when glueing everything up I shove the seat onto the handle. I would scuff up any area except where the "exposed" section is into a

In reference to Mr. James Gentz basically saying there in no way possible to get a thin finish with High Build. I can do it and have seen numerous others do it with no problems. Now Mr. Gentz i'm even gonna tell you how I do it....I put on my finish as usual just a little thinner initially, then as the rod is turning or you can turn it by hand, you lightly scrape all the excess finish off of the

Curtis, If ALL the specs are the same there is no difference. Some manufactures/vendors list these in different places for someone looking for a "spinning" or "casting" blank. But any blank can be "cross built" to anything you want it to be as long as the specs meet your requirments. As far as a website to get info on the different blanks most of the sponsors here

Dove, If you are really sure you were careful about the measurements then I would think that you didnt mix it enough. When your mixing and you've think you've mixed enough, mix some more and then more to be sure. Speaking from experience here.... How are you measuring your finish? I use syringes from Flex Coat and never had a problem. Also Flex Coat and i'm sure others recommend mixing at leas

Pat, Yeah it would probably be ok to use just make sure you can get the grip and handle on before it starts to set up, which isnt very long!! I use the 2 ton epoxy which takes longer to start setting up. Like I said i'm sure it would work but just make sure you have your ducks in a row my friend if/when you try it, but I would recommend getting some 2 ton or rod bond. Hope this helps, Noel

Dana, You go 360 degrees around the guide then around the blank and then 360 around the guide again and repeat for a total of three times. You dont make three consecutive 360 degree wraps around the guide. Hope this helps, Noel

Al, Another option for removing finish is if you can get the thread started where you can "unroll" it off of the blank and most of the finish will come off with the thread. I would wear some type of glasses while doing this because there will probably be projectiles flying around looking for a place to land.....like in your eyes. OUCH!!! Hope this helps, Noel

Well guys I finally made one of the Quick Clamp cork clamps today that Mr. Ellis Mendiola and some others have made and I have only one thing to say...............why didn't I think of that!! I've had one of these Quick Clamps laying around the shop for a while now wondering what I could use it for rodbuilding wise and I'm proud to say it now has a purpose. Great idea and a whole lot faster and e

Kevin, You should everything covered then make long horizontal strokes to even everything out.Make sure you dont put too much finish on your wraps, which is the culprit to most uneven finish jobs in my opinion. Hope this helps, Noel

Bruce, No problem about the misspost. You can buy some motors from allelectronics.com for a couple of buck a piece and make your own dryer. Yeah you can build it to use on your homemade wrapper, but a dryer is not needed. Alot of folks dry by hand. I use a motor from all electronics besides also using my Pacbay Rodsmith drying attachment. If you need more info on the allelectronics motors

I have just completed the worst repair job ever. I got a rod in yesterday that the guy broke three guides off of and attempted to do his own repair. He took the guides and wrapped with braided line then put on a lot and I mean lot of superglue on the line. Usually you can cut the thread or line in this case and peel it back off the rod, but this guy must've tied a knot in each wrap because I coul
