Eugene, We have generated extensive benchmark spreadsheets as well for all of our developed tapers <> My partner does apply Bill Hannemans process to aide in this. Just curious as to what process you use to determine your spreadsheets. I understand if you consider this confidential. I will gladly forward you our basic linear benchmark for the the blank mentioned if you wish.

Eugene, Thanks for taking the time. Those are very defined guide placements ... Can you tell me how you came up with them? Care to share the process you used ? Denis <> You seem to have knowledge of building tools for pursuing big game fish ... Any advise ? Bob Meiser

Ok Dennis/Eugene (if you are indeed two different people) <> Let's put your hypothetical theories to practical application. I am presently building a 9'9" fly rod specifically designed by my shop to deliver advanced grain weight forward shooting heads in the 30' to 35' head length range. This is a two handed over head delivery tool. Engineered factor of delivery for this rod

Hey Bill, Bottom line: I agree. I think that it is generally a good idea to reduce component weight burden whenever possible to enhance blank performance <> As long as overall fishing performace of the finished rod is not compromised by doing so. Bob Meiser

I enjoy reading this sort of discussion, as I can sometimes learn a thing or two. But in this case ... I would have to think that if the amount rotation remaining in post spring release of a composite tube from line load is so slight that it can only be calculated with macro photography <> Then it is probably not that much of a consideration in regards to a real world fishing applicat

All great advise here guys <> Much appreciated. I too am from Northern Wisconsin originally ... ... But the last time I fished Muskies with a boat rod <> Eddie Ostling was still making his own "Eddie Baits" one at a time up in Spider Lake area ... Great info guys, Marc ... Billy works with Treeland Resorts in the Summers. Been a Proff at UW Eau Claire for many years, but is now retired, so has lot's more time for Muskies ... };^) ... !!! I really like the Spiral wrap approach DR ... Makes good sence to build a casting rod this way for the larger gamefish Thanks a bunch <> Bob Meiser

My older brother; Billy Meiser has been a Musky guide on the Chippewa Flowage near Hayward, WI for nearly 40 years. I'm wanting to build him a boat rod for tossing plugs and bucktail spinners. I figure this would probably be a medium duty Musky rod. I'm thinking that I can do the basic build correctly <> But I am not familiar with these tools, and need advise for selecting the most

Feather color brilliance is simply related to the feathers inherent ability to refract light ... In essence each feather fiber or filament acts like a prism refracting light within it's allowed spectrum. This is especially apparent with the very metallic feathers having brilliant hues of green, blue, copper and bronze; typical to feathers from gamebirds such as Turkeys and Pea Fowels, plus so

Just to add a thumbs-up note to Andy's product. Well over a thousand rods have left our shop since we started using TM (we were one of the first) and over the years we have not had one negative issue. The product is outstanding, and my finish guys will personally now only use ThreadMaster finish. Thanks for a great product Andy <> Bob Meiser

Herb, As you mentioned <> Most will want to up-grain their lines a bit for overhead to economize rod swing and utilize a quick high stop with underhand predominant. ... Makes for a more work efficient delivery in the long haul. Actually <> This may be a very good point of disscusion for you to bring up on Spey Pages ... Hi Herb, If you are going to overhead the mentioned two handers you will need to up-grain your lines quite a bit. The primary advantage (and beauty) of the two handed overhead delivery is that it can eliminate the physical burden of the double haul, and acheive targeted distances with a minimal amount of expended energy on the part of the caster ... ... But in the absence of the double h

If extreme distance is your targeted application; the TCR would be the more efficient two handed overhead rod. ... But for this application <> I would also consider the Forecast F12678-4 All of the original F series two handed blanks make fine overhead rods. Bob Meiser

Pete, The Batson 12678 was a good choice for this application. This taper is very well suited for two handed overhead deliveries. Sat. AM is fine 9:00/10:00 PST Oregon. Joe, Dan's mentioned 10' FTs are by no means too short of a blank for switch rod application ... In fact the 10' blank can be ideal for this. Blank length is not specifically the definition of a switch rod <> Application is. Our shop builds a lot of switch rods for anglers, and we have designed switchers for several blank manufacturers. We will build switchers for Blue water a
