I have built a couple of spinning rods using Tom's tutorial on New Concept Guide placement on this website. The rods have worked quite well. I used Fuji Alconite New Concept guides.(BYAG) I have read and reread the recent articles in Rodmaker, and understand pretty well how to place, space and test the guides. Tommy, Your Email was hidden, so I am replying here. I did not put CP on the bottom layer. I used white NCP with black. I did put 2 coats of CP on the top layer. I think I should have put only one on, as the threads really got darker. I put the thread finish epoxy (Flex coat) on yesterday, and it looks pretty good. I am in the process of making my first tiger wrap. I have the first layer completely done, and the second layer is ready to put the finish on. It has been wrapped and the sacificial thread has been removed. I have white and Black as the base threads, and royal blue as the second thread.
