I'll be waiting for one of our vendors to get the CC's in stock. Lance? Karen? Bill? Clyde

Alex, Thanks, I've got it. I don't need to know the specifics, just wanted to ensure they'll stand up to the salt water in the bay and ocean front. I'll be ordering the Kigan's tomorrow! And as Col stated, please let us all know when the titanium frames are available. Clyde

Having read thru KIGAN's catalog a couple times, I find no mention of the base materials for their guides... anyone know? I'd like to try them, but only if they're a good grade of sst. Clyde

Hunter, It looks like those Cabelas kits are a little lean on materials.... if you run short of "stuff", shoot me an email, I've probably got some extra materials lying around needing a new home. clyde c_thomas_48@msn.com

Bill, I've used the MB844 and 845 for throwing jigs and plastic to Stripers here on the Chesapeake... they've been great. Cows are coming home for the winter soon, hope to give them a max work out. Clyde

Got a question... even after re-reading Kevin's article several times, I'm left with a nagging question about overlapping the abalone on top of itself when making the wrap. Does this present any noticible "lump" in the finished product or does the overlap kinda disappear when it is coated with epoxy? Clyde

Mike and Bill, I oughta be there mid-afternoon on Friday. I'll be staying at the Marriott Ct Yard on Metro Circle... only cause its a freebie and is only about a mile away from the Ramada. I can give either of you a call on Friday, compare plans for evening? I still owe MIke a couple cold adult beverages... now seems the right time to pay up! Clyde

Bill, I'm looking forward to it, I oughta be there in time for dinner on Friday. I'm really interested in learning something about weaving and just meeting some more rod builders. If anyone needs a ride from the Baltimore Area, I'll be leaving here on Friday morning and returning on Sunday morning. Glad to have some company. Clyde

Like Tom mentioned, it isn't real cost effective for someone to dip a single blank (or entire rod) and not many folks want to repeat the same pattern enough times to make it worthwhile buying an entire sheet of the pattern materials... I'm wondering if there are a few who might like to "gang up" to buy a few different patterns and split them up among themselves. That way a builder cou

Lorenzo, Check your email.... I forwarded an XL spreadsheet that does the winding check calcs for you. I wish I remembered who shared it on this site a couple years ago, but old age is settin' in quick. In any case I hope the spreadsheet helps... but it still doesn't replace a set of calipers if you have the blank on hand.

Good info, Alex. I'm in MD, usually fish the Chesaepake Bay or offshore out of Wachapreague or Chincoteague, VA. Typical (for me) mahi last year was 15 - 30#, caught with spinning gear, but the rods I was using were a bit too light... need to add some beef to bring the fish to the boat a little quicker and the RCLB's may be just the ticket. I know Kevin is an experienced mid-Atlantic angler

Kevin, Do you suppose those RCLB's could be cut down to 72" - 78" and be used for tossing meat to mahi? Clyde

Nick, I'd suggest you give Lance a call at Swampland (on the right). He quite often has some nice blanks on sale and the HG40-783 makes a great blank to soak bloodworms and such for croakers and spot. If you build it up with some micros and put some thought into the handle design and reel seat, I'm sure you'll come up with a product your uncle will appreciate. I live in the Halethorpe ar

Lance (or anyone), Since I switched to a laser printer just in time for the rollout of this new decal media, I'm not sure whether it'll work. Will this media work with a laser printer? Clyde

Phil, That's funny! Mainly because I had to read the directions about 4 times to be sure I knew exactly what Pat meant by removing the extra layer. clyde

Steve, Would it be acceptable for those of us that have not purchased, built with, or had positive/negative experiences with micro components to simply take an oath to use them on their very next build? Clyde

About the only thing left to add is "castration bands"... available at most farm co-ops, they are cheerio sized/shaped rubber bands and will hold nearly anything.
