Yeah Tom just kinda putting the guides where they seem to want to be. I was having heck getting the 180 guide to load properly. And just kept moving things out until it was happy.

Try NFC 721 X-ray. It's pretty nice just built one and so far I like it. Loaded with braid and Ti Sic with recoil runners it is on par sensitivity wise with a G Loomis NRX 901S pretty amazing you can toss a senko and feel the water rolling over the ribs at 60 ft. Neither one of these I have truly fished. But that's just my first impressions.

The 736 I built on is a MH in my hands it felt a little heavier than that but I'm pretty sure I kinda messed that build up component wise. ACS reel seat split grip and it was a long split. I think if the handle was shorter it would have felt better.

Been stuck in spinning rods here lately. Went back to building casting spiral wrap. Doing a simple with a bumper using the RV Fuji guide and it seems the first three are pretty spread out. More so than I recall but I was trying to get the choke guide to load properly and it looks okay now. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this? 20" from reel face then about 7-8" for bumper

Get a machinist kit that covers the letter bits and it also covers a whole slew of standard sizes as well. I'm not sure how big you need to go but they are available.

Go KR 6RV and your choice of runners size wise 2-3 KB then KT out. insize of your choice. I perfer 4.5 as they arent so hard to thread your line through.

Jim, Totally understand that. I run Mitsubishi equipment and the translated OEM documents are a challenge at best. You have to take a lot of with with a grain of salt.

Just get a computer UPS. It is the simple way to do it. You can use it for multiple devices then. You can get a whole unit for the price of a car battery and then you don't have to modify equipment or get inverters and such. Remember KISS

Nope all my casting rods are now spirals. Love the way they fight a fish no twisting just straight up and down. Have an light I've caught some 5 lb trout on and you don't get the roll like you do with a conventional rod.

Thanks I set all of mine up KW concept casting with the RV stripper spiral wrap so I look at that just to ensure that I don't have any spool stacking on my reels.

Roger, Question for you. I can see how this would work well for a spinning setup but how can this work for a casting? I'm a bit lost as in a casting you don't have the rotary movement around the spool like you do with a spinning reel. Jake

Last summer I caught a 3 lbs smallie on a Carbonlite MH rod and I had to work my butt off to get him out of the weeds he was in. My partner insisted I had a snag and I kept telling him I had one. Finally got him freed and hauled in. Sunday I was fishing much heavier cover and I never felt like I was going to break off or break my rod. It was a very good feeling. Not to mention he couldn't feel th

David totally agree with you. With a jig on it's amazing add tungsten and it's scary. I fish for smallies in the rocks a lot. I probably am not in stuff that others would claim to be heavy cover but it is heavy for my area. I need to get my 733 done so I can dedicate it as a senko rig with the 736 as a jig rig.

Well I've got to say wow!!! I built a 736 with Winn splits, Fuji SK2 seat, Fuji K series Titanium micro guides spiral wrapped, and matched it with an Abu Garcia Revo 4 Premier. I finally got to fish it enough to figure out what it's all about. It is sensitive as all get out and has very good backbone in comparison to the other MH rods I've fished in the past. That thing will cast a weightless 4-5

Herb. No problems at all man. My fishing partner prefers spinners. They are much more forgiving. Sold him one rod working on selling him a second. Norm. I can cast some pretty light stuff but I think a dedicated setup will be beneficial. I guess if it's a bust I will learn.

Many say the same about casting reels. They can't cast em and they blow up on em. I got my first casting reel before I turned 5. Its natural to me my thumb is trained. Sold it to my fishing partner. I built a NFC 662 or 661 IM and it's darn nice. But I'm not sure it will load with lighter stuff got a Met on it now. The PB intrigues me with fact it goes from 1/32-3/8 and butt is 1/2" so i

Well I'm looking to snatch up an Aldabaran BFS reel and make a casting rod. I recently sold my Stradic CI4 as I just hate spinning reels. I hate line twist can't cast them in the dark can't stop em when you want. I guess that's a personal opinion but I dislike them. Anyone with experience on the BFS reels can chime in as well. I was looking at the Scorpion and the Revo LTX BF8 as well but I t
