I took an alcohol pad and wiped the rod blank where i was going to install decal, i figured from rod handling there could be residue in the rod blank from your hands. I let it dry installed decal using my bare hands and after it set for a bit i used a alcohol pad on decal and area let dry then put my expoy over it while running on drier and so fa

I wound up using a set of airwave guides on my spiral wrap rod as they stood up taller as i was having troubles with the line rubbing on the rod when loaded. They may not be the prettiest guides but they function, the set i used was the AW-set-c and they where cheap...lol...good luck..

No sir i used airwave guides...it's not the guides making noise, i guess it's just that sensitive of a rod blank.

40. Noisy rod build
My 3rd rod build and i used a MHX blended 8 foot rod with cork grips and graphite reel seat. The handle resonates or transmits sounds that i have never heard any other rod do, it will amplify the little bit of noise of the reel or if you bump it. Instead of using the foam core for the reel seat i used the ole masking type way, did i do something wrong or is this the nature of the rod being that s

That would have to be some very runny epoxy to fill all that space.

I have had shipment issues as well, but it was because they did not have what i ordered in stock. I emailed them to find out what was the delay and they said they where out of stock on item.

Does the spiral wrap hinder the casting distance?
I have an 8 foot MH MHX rod blank for crank baits coming for a casting rod for myself to build and thinking about doing the spiral wrap(acid rod) build.

I just built a CRB blank using mudholes kit, it's a 6'6" casting rod and i put all 9 guides on it as per the package and CRB's guide placement. I'm building a 7' MHX spinning rod now and intend to use all 9 guides as per there guide placement guide as i figure it's there blank and they know best.
