On Mille Lacs lake here in Minnesota we use 1/8-1/4oz Northland jig heads with leaches or shiners for slip bobbering walleyes. I use a 7'6" ML fast action that slides into the handle down to like 6'6" or something. Works great for getting the slack out when you set the line. look up on You Tube there is tons of walleye slip bobber videos.

I am in the middle of building on the REVS610MLXF for a friend that I built a REVS610MXF He wanted a little softer tip. Did a sports team colors. I like the REV blanks for the price point vs what I get.

Get his power noodle and you will not have that problem with a 28" rod, vs the panfish noodle. Way more back bone out to the tip on the PN Levi Bakker Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------ > > My thought behind possibly needing to trim from > the tip on a noodle blank is that if you have a 36 > inch blank with, let’s say, an 6 inches of being >

Hello fellow rod builders. My question is can the web site be updated to have the option to insert pictures or to share pictures in our post? I am a member on another web site that makes it easy to insert photos to share and ask questions about. Thanks

Basskang all the way, his panfish noodles and walleye carbons are the best for $8. Use light weight fly guides or recoil guides. Basskang sells fly guides and handles also. I use the Mud hole 5" cork handles sometimes but make a lot of my own. Email me and I can send you pics of all the ice rods you want, I built over 500 of them living in Minnesota. Bgross1

I build a 100 noodle rods a year living in Minnesota. You will want to use light weight fly guides made by Alps or recoil guides in size 2 for the tip and keep that size the next 2 guides then jump to a 3 or 4 till you hit the stripper then use a size 10 recoil guide. So on my 24-36" rods I will go tip #2,2,3,3 # 10 on the noodle rods. non noodle #3,3,4,4,10 or 12. Hopes that helps. Thorn bro

Living in Minnesota I know a lot about slip bobbers, that's all we fish. I use the Thrill bobbers with the brass insert on top of the bobber, The thrill neon pink knots a sinker and jig head or hook. All my sets up use 6 or 8lb test mono. Some guys power bobber where they drive around watching the graph and when they mark fish, they stop and cast off the back of the boat on top of the fish, they

Being newer to this site and understanding technical terms, the post before this talks about ERN and Action angle and they relate to numbers. Is there a graph or video that explains what each is and maybe talks about them? Trying to learn as much as I can about this hobby as I love it. PS Where does Norm get these numbers he talks about?

Rainshadow has a build sheet for all their blanks that you could look at and that would get you started with stripper guide size and spacing. You can adjust from there and modify.

So can you just use the Carbon grips as is? Or do most people coat them with Permagloss? Can you use 2 part rod epoxy also or just Permagloss?

Time is not a problem, Just wanted to take advantage of the 60% sale and try some of there blanks to build on. But no where does it talk about how each style blank handles or any info for that reason. Has anyone got any real world experience using one of there blanks that might fit the bill I am looking for?

Hello, Am I the only one that has a hard time looking for specific type of blanks on North Fork web site? Why can they not organize there web site like it Batson or Rod Geeks to make it easy. My questions lay in the lettering of the blanks. I am a walleye guy so I looked under fresh water blanks, figure that is where I would find Walleye style blanks. They have no Med fast 8-14lb 1/4 to 5/8 style
