a friend of mine has an old shimano fighting rod, the one that tapers right into the handle, its old but he really loves that rod, and the finish is chipping off, you can scratch it off with you thumb nail. He would like to save it and have it refinished, to look new again. so can the finish be just sanded in the areas that are flaking off, or does the whole rod need to be sanded and the old fini

I bought some rod covers from bps for my spinning rods that I built, with microwave guides, the cover is for 6-6.6 rods, but they dont fit over the guide closest to the reel. Can someone point to the ones that will fit. thank you

currently I have a rod on the wrapper, and can not turn it over to get the pics. but if you look at the plates that come with the rails, they have 4 holes, and are quite thin, so the 1/8 in thick alum strips bolt in their place and dont have very much give to them. when I get the wrap done i will get some pics up of them.

I bought the rail kit for the hand wrapper, and the rails are nice the plates and screws they include were not to my liking, so I got some 1/8" alum (the same width, and cut it into 4 pieces and drilled it to match the ones that came with it) from Fleet farm, and made new ones, now it is rock solid.

Hello: I was given 5 castaway exposed blank reel seats, they are 14MM, 14.5MM & 15MM which I had no idea what that was when they were given to me, so I would like to be able to use them, but the bass rods I build are way too small for that size. Is there any way that these can be made useful or do I need to find someone that needs them that big to give them to? thanks for any ideas

they will have some of the stuff, if you get the 40% off coupon on line you can get a good deal on one of the Iwatas HP-CS, ($) the Neo (less than 100)gets a lot of people started. you probably already have a compressor, so you need a regulator to get way down in pressure, sometimes as low as 5psi.

I would also figure on a reamer kit, like this one it makes fitting the cork handles a lot easier. other places have them, i just knew where to find this one.

I need to replace a guide on a friends musky rod, they are fuji hardloy according to the description on the web for the bps pete mania rod. it is the first guide, I measured the next 2, they measured .321 and .265 or so, just guessing the are 6's and 8's, so any ideas for the broken guide? 10 or 12 thanks for the insight.
