Grip just completed using Andy's cork. Yes, it's still on the mandrel. A rubberized cork butt cap will be installed once I have this installed on the blank.

I used two of Lamar's cork rings and two other burl cork rings. green burl and brown burl. Just wish the green burl had a stronger color.

Close up of the split grip area. I found that Madeira colors 1843 and 1842 are the closest you can come to at matching the blank. 1843 is the closest to the grip. Under the decal there is no thread.
