The RX8's are High Modulus vs RX7's being Intermediate Modulus. Just like Roger Wilson said, I don't know if the word stiffer is the correct word either. It all depends on the blank model and the type of fishing that your doing. Remember the RX8's have been discontinued for the exception of the Salmon/Steelhead rods. Well for the hundreds of thousands of guides we sell a year and get less than .0001% back total, I think we have great odds! Also BASS ELITES PRO KEVIN VAN DAMN has stated in all his fishing with the ALPS guides, he has never had a ring pop out. So that has to count for something :)

Just responding to the original question ;) As for the appearance, the opinions do matter and trust me we have thought of this time after time. Opinions on this forum do matter.
