I just give them an estimate of where I think I will put my reel seat and grips. If you don't know where you want it just ask them if they have any recommendations. Mudhole is always patient and will help you get what you need. I would just put what you want in an online cart, call them, and have them size it for you and ask them questions to work out the kinks. Also you will love the MHX Blanks! They are my favorite ones to build on. Just can't beat them for the price.

That kit would work great. The main difference between the magbass and the spin jig is the backbone of the rod and how fast the tip is. Also the magbass blanks come in heavier sizes. I prefer the magbass for worms, tubes, shakey heads, and flipping and the spin jig for finesse fishing like dropshot and ultra-light hair jigs. As for the SK2 seats I am personally not a fan. I use either the Fuji AC

I messed up the rear portion of the split grip of the rod I am working on. I had already glued the rest of the handle on before I realized that it was messed up. Am I just out of luck or is there a way that I can remove the old grip and slide a new one up from the butt of the rod blank? Thanks, Ben Eipert

I would definitely go with the Titanium alconites or Titanium Microwave guides if possible. The MHX blanks are gonna be your best bet. I absolutely love them and they are extremely affordable. I am not sure if this is too light of a rod but MB941-MHX is a model that might work (7'10" 10-17 and 1/4 to 1 oz) or if you want heavier FS904-MHX (7'6" 10-20 1/4-1 1/4 oz) might work. Just my tw

I am building a 7'6" flipping stick. I am wanting to use micro guides but am not sure if they will pull out on a rod that heavy. The guides are Fuji titanium aclconite K series. Any other foreseeable problems or am I good to go? Thanks, Ben Eipert

If I were you I would check out MHX blanks. They are my favorites and are priced right. The MB-873 and MB-941 models look like something you might be interested in. The 941 is a 7'10 but It is my absolute favorite rod for plastics. The extra few inches make a huge difference in my opinion. It lets me throw anything from swimbaits to grubs. I would use either Microwave guides or Alconite K Concept

Check Mudhole or any of the other suppliers to the left. If you are looking to salvage it try being really careful and just pop it off. Ben Eipert

I use the 7' 10" MHX Mag Bass blank for all of my finesse baits. Light enough tip to cast small baits but still enough backbone to set the hook. Use it with spiral wrapped minimas and you can't go wrong. Just my 2 cents. Ben Eipert

Wouldn't I have to worry about the grip cracking when I mounted it?

I am building a 7' 6" MHX flippin stick and was wondering if there were any problems with using a handle entirely made of burnt cork or just of the rubberized kind. Also, has anyone had any experience using just the rubberized cork? That is what I'm leaning towards but not sure about weight and comfort. Thanks, Ben Eipert

He says that it was custom rod and that blank manufacturer has closed. Do you know who took over and if they would honor that warranty? Thanks, Ben Eipert

I have a customer who needs the section replaced on a Dan Craft 9 weight fly rod. Does anyone know any equivalent blanks that would fit? He said he would get back to me with the exact model number and height later. Thanks, Ben Eipert Eipert Custom Rods

82. Rod Fix
I have a customer who wants a catfish rod completely stripped and redone. The problem is the finish is harder than other ones I've done and I've never had to take a reel seat off. Any ideas I can do without harming the blank. I don't know if I should try and use a lighter or what. Thanks Ben Eipert Eipert Custom Rods
