I have several books including BVs on how to do some wraps. Does anyone know of any books out there explain how to design a wrap from concept to the steps involved. I also have Visual Wraps CD, but i'm looking for books also. Any help would be great, thanks guys.

64. visual wrap
I recently purchased the visual wrap software. My problem is that when i try to load it, nothing happens. Usually i'll get an icon, but with this i get nothing. I have windows xp, so that shouldn't be the problem. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how do i fix it. Or maybe it's me missing something. It's very frustrating cause i really want to get going on my next rod with the help of t

66. Re: Butt wrap
I guess my main concern was how to turn the rod with one hand, hold tread with the other, and not have the blank turn when i go to turn it again. Thinking that when i let go to turn it again, it will move and i'll get slack in the wrap.

67. Butt wrap
I have a hand wrapper and would like to try a decorative butt wrap. I've seen them done on power wrappers to keep tension on the wrap while doing it. Is it possible to do one with a hand wrapper?

68. Re: drying time
Thanks Buzz, I'll have to look into Thread Master Lite. I took the rod off the dryer this morning after being on all nite and it seems ok. It was on since noon yesterday so that make 18 hrs total. It's just a smig tacky but with high humidity here, that's not bad. Thanks again Buzz, Jack

Just finished building a rod and have it on the drying machine now. My question is how long should it go before it will be safe to take it off the dryer. Thanks for any help. Actually it's been on the dryer since about 12:30 this afternoon.

72. Fuzzy tie off
I just spent some time wrapping a guide that turned out great, except for one thing. When i made the tie off and cut the thread i thought i was close enough. But once i pulled the line through, i got that ol' fuzzy end sticking up. Since it took some time to wrap, i don't want to have to do it again. My question is what does anyone think would be the better thing to do. Should i take the chance a

75. Butt guide size
I was surfing around RodBuilding. Org. the other day, and came across an article i found very interesting but forgot to save. It was how to figure out the correct butt guide size and guide spacing. I remember there being a formula involved. I believe it took the spool diameter times 27 then divided that by another figure. I've been looking all day and can't seem to find it again. If anyone can s

I'm looking to build a special rod for my daughter and have one question. I want to use an aluminum winding check, but without the blank to measure for the correct size, how can i determine the correct size to order when i order the blank and the rest of the materials? I'm new to rod building, and would appreciate any and all help, Jack

78. Re: Wraps
Billy, The wraps i'm talking about are on the Nerbs site. I believe they're called, Tartans, Pinwheels, and 3D Chevrons. These are the type i'm talking about.

79. Re: Wraps
I've done, and currently doing a narrow banned spiral, but see more intricate patterns on the Nerbs web site. I was wondering how to figure out how to wrap them. Nothing in particular, just more involved. Any of the pics on your site is what i'm referring to.

80. Wraps
I'm looking for any info on how to do the more advanced wraps i see. Some are really great, but i don't have a clue how to do them. If anyone can tell me of and literature, books, or videos on the subject, that would be helpful. I've done several open and closed spirals, along with some banded spirals, but would like to do more. If anyone can help, i'd appreciate it.
