John, No problem. One thing about NCP is that they are more of an opaque color. Get yourself a couple of colors that you already have, in NCP, before you stock up and wrap them on the same piece of scrap. You will see that there is a big different in color. For example, Royal Blue Nylon (w/ and w/o CP) looks different than Royal Blue NCP of the same brand. Andres Perez Miami, FL

John, I forgot to mention. If you decide to apply CP, use a small brush and apply only to the nylon thread. Try to not get the CP on the blank. This should help with the “mess”. Thanks, Andres Perez Miami, FL

John, You only need to apply CP if you want to keep the current color of the thread. Keep in mind that nylon thread will become much darker and somewhat translucent once the finish is applied. Take a scrap piece of blank and wrap a section with the thread you are using. Apply CP to half of the wrap and apply finish. This way you can compare the two colors side-by-side. I keep adding to th

Frank, You need to interpolate to get the diameter. First, subtract the butt diameter from the tip diameter. Take this number and divide it by the overall length of the blank. This will give you the ratio in which the blank is tapering. Multiply this ration by the length from the butt to where you want to place the winding check. This will give you the difference in diameter from the butt.

Bill, Buy a couple of 3-way light switches from Home Depot and wire them as you would a light in a room that can be turned on and off from diferent locations. Place the switches along your work bench and use them to power on and off the dryer. Hope this helps, Andres Perez Miami, Fl
