Hi, did you ever get a hold of him? After a many year hiatus, I'm interested in buildign a new rod this winter and I love the Dan Craft rods I built. I can't seem to find any info or website for his business.

Thanks guys... anyone know where the Affinity One fits in relative to the Affinity MX and Affinity X? CTS's website doesn't have that model in their fly blank graphic:

I'm putting together my winter rod building project (a 9' 4-piece 5 wt). I was going to build a dan craft (own a Sig III, probably build a FT) and did a quick search on here to see if any new opinions have come out about DC rods. One post also mentioned something about CTS blanks being top notch... but I can't seem to find where to buy them in the US? Any suggestions? I'd like to check them

Thanks everyone... while I'm a huge fan of Dan Craft, I think I'll try the inexpensive one sold by Schneiders.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a 10' 4 wt blank that's not too expensive (i.e. ~$100... sorry Sage Z-Axis, you're too expensive)? I'm thinking of using this to czech nymph with. thanks for any suggestions.

I haven't built a rod in a year or 2... and looking at my supply of Glass Coat... and the unfinished wraps on the spey rod I'm building, I realized I need to replenish my stock. I got it from Richard's Rod and Reel before, but their link here doesn't seem to work. I also can't find it from other sponsors (although I do admit to doing a quick "man" look). Is Glass coat still avail

Is there a volume/article index online for Rodmaker magazine (I am a subscriber)? I'm looking for the table published that had the grades of cork rings available... I don't know which issue/volume. Thanks, Mike

I own the 1.5 Evolution, and have to say it's a fantastic reel. It is pricey, and if I had to do it all over again I'd also take a look at the Ross Rythm. It's the same drag system, same materials, just different machining (it's not as aesthetically pleasing as the evolution, in my opinion)... and a significant amount less expensive.

I'm in the market to get a set of titan guides (not the blue ringed ones) for a saltwater spinning rod I'm planning on building. There's no real rush (good thing...) so having the guides backordered isn't that big a deal to me. I can get them from Cabela's, but would rather give sponsers some money as a first choice.... Any sponsers out there taking backorders for these guides? Thanks,

I also used cobalt with metallic silver trim (one rod with silver inlays, one with trim bands on each wrap). It looks really good. I've yet to do it with color preserver (got one now that I'm using cobalt and blue that I plan on color preserving)... but I think it'll look good.

I bought two rod kits last fall from Custom Tackle. They are 7'9" 2 piece 3 weights that cost $30 a piece (It was in their inventory clearance special from last fall... at least the end of 2004). The blanks are labeled with a little sticker : F793-2DB(7) The invoice I got only said F793. I lost the specials list that CT sent out on request (by lost, I mean deleted...) Anybody know

I'm building a 8' 5 piece 3 weight Dan Craft Sig III rod... and after locating the stripping guide, commenced the static deflection test to determine guide placement. The first time, I used all 10 guides that Dan provided (They were already taped on to test cast the stripper placement). I got a good line flow, then decided to try it with only 9 guides. I couldn't get a very good flow... in

I was gluing up the hardware on two reel seats last night, and went to use the Flex Coat rod building epoxy I have... and the "red" bottle was jelled up. So I used 2 hour Devcon (I think that's the brand... bought at walmart). instead... but no I'm having a little anxiety that it won't hold. Is there any reason why I can't just use regular store bought epoxy versus Rod building ep
