1. Best Reamers
On my first rod build. It took 2 hours with a round rat tail file. Even if I have to pay for a dream reamer I never want to use a rat tail file for that job again. I also had to ream my nickel winding check, boy was that a lots fun (read with much sarcasm)!
l know about making reamers from broken rods, but unfortunately I do not have any. So is the only worthwhile choice left a set of dream r

Has anyone here ever dealt with or have any familliarity with the following guy on that big super well known @#$%& site ro6231. He is selling 10' 3wt & 4wt blanks.

I've heard of Tiger Eye, Forecast, and Tradition blanks Fly Rod Blanks. Are there other Fly Rod Blanks that are decent quality inexpensive blanks I should no about. I am building on a very nice blank right now, but I want to get a lot of practice building in hope that I can get good enough to eventually begin a custom fly rod building business without braking the bank.

Mark the fact that there are a couple companies working blanks with you is good news. I do not know if this helps, but Hook & Hackle "XG" 10'4" 4wt rod is built for them by the Great Bay Rod Company in Vermont. Perhaps they would be worth contacting for you. My plan is to use this on rivers like the Truckee, Upper Sac, and McCloud. So I might

Thank you for the suggestion, but if you are referring to the 'Special "White River Tailored" Fly Blanks,' I really am not interested in a 2 piece rod blank, especially in a 10' rod.

Hi Everyone:
This is my first post, but I've been lurking for a few weeks. I'm currently on my first rod build on a Hook & Hackle Xi 9' 4 wt, with Rec uplocking nickel silver reel seat, and Ti Stripping/snakes/ and tip top, Hook & Hack half wells cork grip, nickel silver winding check, and nickel silver strap & loop hook keeper. Its going well so far and I am starting on the guide
