Hi All, I'm building a few MHX spin rod blanks. So far I've built a 6'6" Medium and ML rods with Pac Bay GBS blank-exposed real seats. I'm now building the same 6'6" L and UL rods and their blank diameters are smaller and the GBS real seats ID are too large for the blanks. Any suggestions for real seats (split grip) where the ID of the real seat will be tight to the blank so

Yup. Well aware of that. The motor is not working at all. Sounds like I'll be good with a PB/ATC motor. Glad there's a replacement available but not happy with the durability of the OEM motor. Thankfully I was able to use the finishing motor to dry the rod. Was rotating around 20-30 (sometimes jerky) RPM but the finish turned out okay. Thanks for the replies. Preston Lou Auret Wr

Hi Everyone, I recently wrapped a rod and used the wrapping motor on my ALPS Power Wrapper to apply the finish...switched it over to the dryer mode and to my surprise it didn't work. I've only used this wrapper for about 8 rods. Any idea if the American Tackle / Pac Bay dryer motor will work on the ALPS? Thanks in advance, Preston Toronto

I plan to glue individual cork rings directly onto the blank and wish to shape the rubberized butt cap without having a mandrel hole in it. Insights or comments on my following questions would be greatly appreciated. Questions: 1) Is Titebond III okay fo

Todd, Are those solid carbon blanks? As well, are they all MH or just the longest one? If not, what are the smaller two blank actions/power. Thanks, Preston

Hi, First post in over 5 years so I had to re-register. I'd like to build a few ice fishing rods for the winter. I'm planning on using solid graphite blanks by St. Croix, Thorne Bros, or any other suitable generic blank. Lake Trout (outdoor) rod: 36" Medium-heavy Fuji NPS reel seat (any other suggestions?) Questions: approximately how many guides? 4-5 (based on static load test)
