I'd be hard pressed to think of any supplies or materials that I haven't bought from your sponsors.

Nate,
I'm just about to sit down to wrap a similar rod tonite.
Did you use locking wraps ahead of the guide foot? Check out the library link above.
Hope this helps,

Over the past 6 months, I have used some FC that I bought about 7-8 years ago. The resin had some crystals in the bottom. I warmed it on my boiler, and then s-l-o-w-l-y brought it back to room temp. Had no problems with pot life, curing or anything else for that matter.
The old stuff is gone now, and I will be using new F-C on my next rod.

I have had good results using Nickle/ Silver rosettes from Tandy, a leather craft supply house. they are decorative, have a domed shape, and have a screw/stud attachment on the underside.

Thanks again Steve. I will work on fitting a line to the rod. Maybe in the future, I will look into the CC system, but for right now, I just want to cast and fish. ;-)

Casting becomes like breathing, you get to the point where you don't even think about it. It's very possible I may have casting faults that are m

I was hoping for more input, still wondering if I have under-lined the rod or if my casting ability is better suited to a slower action rod.

Last night I had a chance to fish with the XT51 6'6" 2 weight rod I put together earlier this spring. I was very happy with the quality of the blank, and that is not in question at all.
I am using a RIO DT floating 2 wt line with it, and to be honest, my three weight built from a Blanks.com $15 second, is much more fun to cast.
As soon as I can, I will try a 3 wt WF line on it, am I
