Hi, Thanks for all the information. The CCS measurement on the pole turned out to an ERN of 8.95. So it's a big enough pole, just not using the right fly-line. Was looking forward too making the pole though. Tom

Looking for suggestions on what size fly rod should be put together for Northern Pike fishing. Fly fished for Pike the first time last spring. Used an 8 wt. rod that just worked using a heavy fly, like the Bunny Split. Was thinking that a 10 wt. rod would be heavy enough, but not so sure now. Hoping to catch from 18 in. to 24+ in. size pike. Thanks, Tom Tysver

Certain brands of masking tape will help. Found out that the brand Tartan will stay stickyer longer then some others. And washing your hands before wraping will help to keep the oil on your hands off of the tape.

Yes did some scuffing on the pole, but didn't try the water break free test. Will do that tomorrow and order some new glue, out of the other any way. Tom

Having trouble gluing the cork grip and reel seat onto an American matrix pole. Been using Devcon on other poles but for some reason is not holding onto this one. Thought first did not mix the right amount to gether. But that didn't work for the second time. So was wondering what brand that I should be looking at or is there something else that I may be doing wrong? Thanks for the informatio
