Larry,if you use a verticle epoxy to glue your seat, that little difference on the front will not hurt.if you ream the seat a little on the rear to make the front fit you will find (1) that you have made the seat lighter(2)you have made the seat fit better(3)it will take less glue.therefore, making it a lighter rod and better.just my thoughts,James Gregory.

Gabe,i just finished 2 cb 845's.one casting with micros, one spinning on the 27x method.both handle very well and have a wide lure range.i have found that it will also shoot a smaller lure very well.have caught several 7-8# hybrids on them with no problems.sorry to say that the big elusive large mouth over 5# have not given me a chance to test the rods.they are very good rods.good luck,James Grego

Michael,i am new to this so keep in mind what i think is pure thinking and maybe not true.when you use the 27x method, that is for giving you a pretty good handle on where to set your choker guide.with this method you won't use the center line of the spool to set the butt guide.i think you will use a butt guide that is equal to 1/2 the spool face diameter.set your guides from the choker toward the

you have to understand that i am new to this science of micros.the only reason i am responding is because i want to understand the ins and outs and i just built 2 micro set ups for myself. Bobby pulled 34.5 # with the line tied directly to the guide.bear with me on this,i am new.i can understand that a sudden hookset with the line wrapped around a guide might pull a guide out but if the line is

i am still a little confused on the spiral, which is not abnormal.i understand the bumper guide,i think,is to keep the line off the blank.my problem, however,is the placement of the stripper.if you spiral to the right,do you set the stripper guide a little right or a little to the left to keep the line coming on the reel in the center of the reel or do you set it on 0?thanks, jim.

where is the best pivot point to measure balance? i have heard in front of reel seat, the middle of seat.if you palm the reel,i could see balance in the middle of seat.if you hold the rod a little toward the front of reel so you can stay in touch with your line,i can see balance in front of seat.i did a test on a split grip and it made as much as 2 oz.difference going from middle to the front.also
