Guys I have a customer asking for a crank bait rod. He would like to try a MHX Blank. He is throwing 3/8 - 5/8 ounce baits. Any suggestions on model numbers?

Gabe -- Good to se ya posting on the board. Whether you want 7' or 7'-6", the CB843 or CB903 Blend in the MHX series.

Thanks Bob I guess I screwed up. I think he want 6' 6" but I will give him the 7' option. Great to hear from you.

Gabe -- If you could get hin to go with the 7' model, I think in the long run he would like it better, especially for the extra distance on a cast.

What type of action does either offer. (How much bend prior to getting into the beef?)

They have a moderate-fast action. They have the proper flex for fishing crankbaits and also the designed flex to help keep the fish buttoned up during the landing procedure.

Gabe,i just finished 2 cb 845's.one casting with micros, one spinning on the 27x method.both handle very well and have a wide lure range.i have found that it will also shoot a smaller lure very well.have caught several 7-8# hybrids on them with no problems.sorry to say that the big elusive large mouth over 5# have not given me a chance to test the rods.they are very good rods.good luck,James Gregory.
