I used 5# urethane with no skin on it. This was built for me and so far so good. It has held up, but I'm pretty gently with it.

Tom, PLEASE resume in 2022. I’m sure this COVID mess will be behind us by then. I have not missed a show in 12 years and would hope to have the opportunity in 2022.

I thought the reception was great. Walking around talking for a few hours works for me. Tom, thanks for all your hard work putting on the show, it was a lot of fun as usual. My only suggestion is to get Billy V. to have a booth. I've learned a ton watching him do his wraps at the show. Improving my skills is most important to me. Hope you do it again next year, I've met so many great people

No, there is no cover or back. I've been getting Rodmaker for a long time and know about the white address protective cover. I have no cover, inside of first page, back page or inside of back page. Weird, I thought that maybe all current issues were like this one, I guess I got the only defective copy. I should put it on @#$%&, starting bid $100,000.

Tom, I see the intended cover phone for my latest issue of RodMaker here. Quesion: my issue looks like the Beatles "White Album". No cover photo, nothing on the back of the magizine and the inside of these pages are blank as well. Did I get a collectors item here or was there a problem with the whole run? The first page with print on it is the contents page.

I used their colored tape for a few years. My issue is when I see one of those old rods, the text has faded so badly that it looks awful. I started using Decal Connection and it is worth the time and cost for me. I did buy the paper that has been sold at the show over the past few years and it works great. I just need some to do the layout for me. If the clear tape is the difference, please

Mr. Beenen, none of your comments have anything to do with my post. I find your reaction to my post, strange at best.

On Lake Lanier for Striper, we often drop a bait below a school of fish and slowly reel the bait through the school. This method gets a lot of strikes from fish that don't touch a live bait swimming next to them. This method is what the guy wants with micro guides. You get a first tap and you need to stop power reeling at this point.

Thanks for the information. A local tackle shop is telling my friend that the ring being closer to the blank makes it more sensitive. Any merit there?

but is there an advantage to using them on a live bait boat rod, no casting involved?

A friend just asked me to build him a boat rod for live baiting and power reeling stripers and asked me to use micro guides to improve sensitivity. Is sensitivity a big advantage on micro guides in an application like this. I was under the assumption that casting distance was the big plus of micro guides. I don't see the logic in using them on a boat rod just dropping a live bait over the side

I buy small/med/large packs of 10 each for around $4.00 per pack. Go to www.Theriaultflies.com They are out of Maine as I remember. I looked hard to find them at a good price. This was the best deal I could come up with.

I do a lot of kayak fishing. I would make sure that the rear grip is long enough to keep the reel handle from touching the kayak. If you are trolling and get a big hit, the handle gives the rod leverage to pop out. I've also made a bunch of split grips for myself. A couple of them don't work well in the kayak. The top rear grip hit right at the top point of my rod holder. It chips the grip

I buy 12 cc syringes and fill them up. I mix 1 to 1 1/2 cc's at a time. I like the consistency of the epoxy mixing small amounts. I get the syringes from Scott at Fishsticks. I use the same ones for 100 rods with no problem. One time I told Scott when ordering syringes that I liked to fill large syringes and build a few rods from the content. He didn't do that and seems to not think that wa

Brad, I use Threadmaster and live 20 miles from you. The area does not matter. I fill the large syringe using equal amounts and never have a problem. I can do 2-3 rods with the large syringe. BTW - we need to talk about the custom decals, I've done it a few times now. .... Brandan
