I have wraped a few rods that came out looking really great.I'm having people asking me if I can wrap A rod for them . With the prices of the apoxy and the guide wrapes and the guides . How do you come up with the price to do this?????

thanks alot for the info. the rod I wraped it in A under wrap and then went with D guild wrap and the put a little A dress ups. I won't be troughing plugs I'll trough 1 to 1 1/2 oz. with a mullet on it .I may wade out to about maybe cheast deap water to cast .depinds on if I whatch (jaws) before i go fishing! I'm rebuilding a 9ft surf rod that is rated for 1 to 3 0z waight 15 to 25 lb. line on a spincaste . should I use an under wrap on the the guilds? the guilds are two footed guilds. and should I use a, or d,tread? for the under wrap or the guild wraps?

I first started with an old rod rebuild ? and so for i"ve rebuilt that rod and built A custom rod .and inwhich i've cought it's first red fish on this weekend on it . I have built a new rod wrapped te guides and put the finish on the guides I did a splite handle on the rod and put the finish on the rod and started with the butt first the flexcoat set up before I finished I have bare spots on some of the wraps.and it has been about a week scince I put the apoxy on it .The qustion is .Is there something that i have to do to the wraps before I can refinish them

Is there a formula for the spiral wrap? I jest bought a 7' med. rod for trout and reds . and i'm thanking about the spiral wrap . is so where can i find the proper location of the guides?

i'd say use a 3m auto tape and that should do the trick to get the fibers off of the wraps

Sents there is alot of fly rod builders in here. Can some body tell me what kind of rod I have here?It is A 3 peace with 3 tips it is Bamboo with a cork handle and it has (May flower) ahead of the seat..It has snake guides and steal ferrerls! The handle is about 6 1/2" long Does any body have any ideal!!

Well the rod is still in the drying stage. So I'll try it Sun. or Monday.I want to do it carful.It's just a old off the rack rod .But if I can learn on that I won't mess up A high doller rod. Thanks again!

I tryed the paint on the rod and it came out real nice i'm going to let it dry over night and then set my guides and wrap it for my son.If it look as good whene i'm done as it does now . I thank it's going to look great. Thank yall for all the help!!

The rod has alot of chips in the red . and can you paint a rod and clear it if so before or after the guides?

It is red and has alot of where on it. It is jest an old rod .Jest to see how to do it . So I can learn how to do a new rod one day. I wrapped one of my rods and it came out pretty good . Not like the ones yall do but one day I might get there .
