Let me clarify, I am using cork handles that are already together, so I am not gluing rings together. Had been using a reamer made from an old rod blank with grit on them to sand away at the center. If I am understanding what you descibed is like a drill bit to widen the center to fit the blank.

I ream out my cork grips by hand and have a problem keeping centered, seems I always get just a little off center. I only build for my immediate family & they don't notice my imperfections but I see them & would like to eliminate them, any suggestions.

Looking at this blank for my next project, G Loomis F1025-3 (IMX) Slate 8'6" 3pc, 5wt , 4.0 tip, 0.374 butt dia. Was wondering if anyone has an built this particular model & could tell me what this action on it is.

Sorry Bruce been a Mets fan for 25 years, my latest rod has Blue/Orange guide wraps and the butt wrap is an optical chevron in orange/blue/black. Just finishing up the 2nd coat & waiting for spring so I can use it.

My daughter bought me that book for Christmas (Custom Thread Art by Clemens) an excellent book with easy to follow instructions on a variety of simple to complex patterns. A definite must have!

I have been to the Kansas City store and there is one in my hometown Kearney NE. The KC store does stock rod building supplies, they have the cabelas brand blanks as well as thread, reel seats etc.. The one in Kearney also stocks to a lesser degree, no blanks. What I do if they don't have what I want is to order it into the store & they call me when it comes in, no shipping charge. Not sure i
