I always date an number all of my rods. I use a serial number as follows month,year, rod number, i.e. 031175, March 2011, number 75. I try to keep it as simple as possible. Hope this helps. Kris

Who has any Gudebrod "rod restorer"? I've got an older fly blank that has some scratches in it that I would like to repair. Any other suggestions woul be welcome as well. Thanks Kris

I've been building and fishing the Super Seekers, look at the CJBF70F, And CJBF70M. Either will have more than enough backbone for albies, or the occasional blue fin or big eye.

Barry, I have built several gaffs for charter boats, and I use tarred twine/cord. I usually "half hitch" it, which gives it a knotted spiral look and provides better grip. Cork tape also works real well. If you need pictures I can send them to you. Kris

Hello all, As it was me that started this thread, I will add one final post. I had an e-mail conversation with Tom, and he set it straight for me. As I understand his e-mail, Gudebrod has had trouble getting the thread to dye, and package to ship, and are NOT filing any kind of bankruptcy. Talked to my supplier, and they stated that Gudebrod had file chapter 11. Anyone talk to Gudebrod directly yet? Hope this isn't reality, as that will make thread a hard to come by reality. Kris

Bill, I have only fished for these oncer or twice, but a Calstar 270, 6ft 12-30, or the equivalant blank from Seeker, should do the trick. Hope this helps. Kris
