Here you can see what a black blank does to a single layer of White NCP thread. This thread has NO color preserver, but it IS NCP. The orange is Gudebrod 'D' NCP The white is Gudebrod 'D' NCP The Silver is Gudebrod HT Metallic 'A' You can see that the black shows through the white considerably...and the silver brightens it up. You can also see it helped the orange considerably. T

Phoenix Suns rod with Temporary Tattoo applied. I didn't like the shape of the tattoo or the lettering, but that's what he wanted! Isn't terrible...but I would've used a different decal/tattoo.

Diamonds underneath the guides (all of them). This was the first rod I completed, and it was tedious to say the least! All done by hand...wish I had a power wrapper at the time to layout the underwraps and locks...

This is my first wrap after 2 thin coats of finish - prior to the final coat. All finishing done on 4rpm motor, what a pain!

This is the first wrap I've done on a rod. The blank is a T70H Gator Glass. Going to be a gift for my Uncle-in-Law. Any Critiques?

Sorry for the LONG delay guys! For some reason, I never got email notifications about this post? S_Queeney@hotmail.com is my email. Feel free to shoot me any anchor ideas, and Clinton, ask away if the 3d wrap you ask about is mine. Thanks, Shawn

That was definitely my 2nd option - I just figured there would already be an anchor decal floating around. If not, I'll pony up the money and have one made. Thanks, Shawn

I searched at Bill Mar, Decal Connection, and did a forum search...is there an anchor decal anywhere? I'm looking for something for a USN or USCG Chief Petty Officer, so basically just a regular old Anchor will work, but preferably one similar to the anchor they use on their insignias and collar devices. Any help? Thanks in advance, Shawn

Hello all, I'm looking for a 6'-6'6" casting rod, for light topwaters for bass fishing. This is going to be throwing 1/2oz topwaters, sometimes lighter, sometimes heavier...with 8-12lb line. I need to stay in a decent budget, so please keep that in mind. I'm trying to spend $70 or less on all supplies. Let me know what you think. I've used CUI and liked them, Rainshadow, Batson, etc

Does anyone have any photos of these colors with finish on them? Barry, Those two colors you provided do look great (on the spool), I wish I could see them on a blank with finish. Ted, I'll look into that madeira. Billy, how does the emerald look with finish? Anything close to lime, or darker like an emerald? The customer wants it to be bright, Lime Green and Black were his requests..

Hello all, I've done a search and I have found Lime Green Metallic thread by Gudebrod, but can't seem to find color charts or codes for the other limes I have found (or close to lime). The photo gallery, if you search 'lime', has a few rods with colors close to lime but no advice given on the color codes. I am looking for something that looks kawasaki green, very loud - any advice? I'd

What's the typical shipping/postage time on a back issue of RMM? I made an order about two weeks ago and haven't received anything yet. I'm using the magazine to complete a rod as a Christmas Gift. Please don't take this as a complaint - just curious to know whether mine was lost or if there is a standard time I should expect. Thanks, Shawn

Hello guys, I am about to order a Rainshadow IP844 - and would like to know what size exposed-blank reel seat to order. I'd like to place the center of the seat about 13" above the butt of the rod. If anyone has this blank 'on hand', I'd like to get a blank diamter in this region of the rod. Any help? Thanks in advance. Shawn

Hey guys, I'm attempting a 3-color Moire with Nylon Red, Nylon Black, and NCP white on the bottom, WITHOUT color preserver, followed up with either Nylon Red or HT Metallic Red on top. Would you recommend the regular red Nylon, or the Metallic Red with a decal underneath?? The decal is basically this logo: (the white shark and text portion, but it is silver). The decal is 3"

Hey guys, How are the Jann's Netcraft 'FLEXLITE' guides holding up to braid? I bought a set a while back, and am FINALLY getting around to putting them on a 7' speckled trout/redfish rod. I will likely be running braid on the rod, and don't want to replace the guides any time soon if I don't have to. Any experience with the FLEXLITES and braid? Thanks, Shawn

Here's the latest: Put a coat of TM Regular on the 'problem rod' and had no problems at all. The finish did not fish-eye, seems to be hardening just fine, and looks like glass as usual. This either means that the contaminants on the rod are either too weak to affect the TM Regular, they magically disappeared, or the TM Lite I have was contaminated in my home one way or another.
