I have the BO36 and have fished it for 30 years plus. It's a good 30 lb rod and have fished 25 lb on it. It was once my favorite go to rod, because of that perfect bend it made when hooked up. It has enough power in the butt section and I've caught tuna up to 70 lbs (wouldn't recommend it ) on it. It can serve as a surface iron rod also as it loads up well with Tady45 and C jigs

I have some heavy duty saltwater chromed braced guides that aren't a full set, that I am trying complete into a full set. They are not shiny, and have more of a brushed finish. I think they are Perfection Guides. I got some Pac Bay's but they are really shiny and don't match. What finish do the Batson Forecasts have? Are Perfection guides still available?

What is the best way to put these tips on? Should I be concerned about heating the tube since it is not metal?

I am going to use single foot Fuji SIC guides as the last 6-7 guides from the tip down,on this rod.
What is the smallest diameter ring I can use for this rod?
I was thinking that 8 mm would be the smallest I should go, as any line to leader connection could hang up in a smaller ring.
Also, what is the largest sized stripper guide should I use? I was thinking that a 16 or 20 would be the best

Thanks
