Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I was moving things around in the garage recently. When I pushed the button and closed the door I did not have a clue that I was going to return and see a 6 inch section of IM6 graphite tip on the floor. I looked at it and sadly shook my head. The rod got caught up in the door runner and snapped off at (2) guides below the tip. It is a v

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Could you tell me if there is (one) ideal R.P.M. for a motorized epoxy mixer to produce optimal bubble free apoxy ? I have seen them range from 16 - 30 R.P.M. Also, does the angle of the mixing cup need to be at a specific angle (45 degrees - 60 degrees) ? Thank you for your time. Good Health Rick Marsters

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I rolled into Jo-Ann Fabric's today to pick up some sticky back felt. I felt a little out of place so I bailed out pretty quick especially when I was trying to track down the felt in the "Bra" fabric & repair section !! I was wondering if the threads they carry Coats & Clark, Gutermann etc. are alright to use in RodBuil

Hi Pete, I am not a rod breakage veteran and I am sure you will get many replies from those that are. I just want to give you my opinion. By viewing the pictures I do not feel that anything done by you in building this Rainshadow SWS70L caused the breakage. The reason for this assumption is the path of the splinter pattern. It looks to me that someone may have accidentally stepped on the rod.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this message. I recently obtained a CPW (Custom Power Wrapper) Power-head with a 3 jaw self centering chuck. I posted a picture of it for identification but I am not sure it is absolutely a CPW unit, The following address links right to the picture. It is very small, the chuck is 3.125" round and the jaws expand to 1.750" and close to .5

Hi Dave and Mike, Penn State Ind. has the small chuck that I have...... The model # is C3J-4. This chuck is held by a headstock with two bearings. At the end of the headstock protrudes a small 2.500" pulley to spin the chuck using a small motor. If I can find a tailstock to hold a center it will be the cat's ### !! At least I have a start.... I will post a picture of this unit soon.

Thank you Mike and Dave for your reply, I appreciate it. Mike it is a very small 3 jaw chuck which is 3.500" in diameter. The whole unit looks identical to a metal lathe headstock but on a much smaller scale. I will post some pictures of it soon. The "Tailstock" I am looking for would be at the end portion of a regular lathe which would hold a center or a drill chuck, these usua

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this message. I recently obtained a very small mini lathe chuck that is perfect for holding and forming custom handles. The chuck will hold a piece of stock up to 1 3/4" and as small as 1/2" with the concaved jaws facing inward. You can reverse the jaws to hold items less than 1/2". I was told this chuck came with a rod wrapping ma

Hi Will, I hope this will help: The best way is to keep from creating them in the first place. Mix your epoxy slowly but thoroughly. Keep brushing to a minimum or even consider using a hard surface tool such as a spatula for applying your finish. If you still get a few bubbles, you can often remove them with the gentle heat from an alcohol lamp or butane lighter. (ALWAYS USE CAUTION WHEN WORK
