Too bad we have to remain out of step with most of the world but unfortunatly when change requires some effort it seems society will opt for the (seemingly) easy route most of the time. Oh well some where down the road maybe. dennis in pasadena

I ran across the paperwork for my Clemens lathe and the date on the receipt was 1985 (man time flies). I lived along the California coast and used it primarily for saltwater rods. Doc...does that mean if it is a casting rod as opposed to a spinning rod you would turn it over to place the guides?

One thing I am going to try to find local (driving distance) are blanks. While the initial purchase price might be tempting the 25 or 30 dollar shipping rate nullifies it for me. I live in Southern California and a 45 minute drive down by the coastline presents access to quite a few stores that stock or will order almost any brand of blank.

Thanks for that input. After sliding it on the blank for another look it stops at just about the perfect position. Fits real tight though.Blank is a Seeker BS706-S

Hi, been away from wrapping for many years but trying a return trip to a great and rewarding hobby (life). Anyway if I ordered the reel seat just a hair too close is it Ok to mildly ream it to get it lower on the blank? It's a fugi TCS-17 and I will be splitting it. Thanks for any input.

I take two hand sized pieces of that rubberized toolbox liner sold in rolls and with a piece in each hand gently twist the area just above and below the split as you close it
