Thanks for all the info guys! I have a couple swimbait rods I really like that I was hoping to be able to get the blanks & make them collapsible rods but, it looks like the best route is to try to find comparable rod blanks that are already made to collapse.

Due to room in my rod locker & front deck I would like to build some rods with a collapsible but section like the old style flipping stick. How do I do this with blanks being one piece? Do I cut the blank at the point I want it to collapse & run the top part of the blank up through the bottom of the butt section? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tony

Can anyone point me in the right direction on what size guides to use on a NFC MB 765-1(X-Ray NEO) blank?

I've built several spinning rods & I'm getting ready to build my first casting rod. I've used the KR guides for my spinning rods & they have a nifty little calculator to help choose your guides & guide sizes. Is there anything like that for casting rods or is there some kind of chart that can help me choose the right guides? Thanks, Tony

Hello Everyone, I have searched everywhere for some American Tackle size 16 EVA Fore Grip for G2 Uni-Lock Hood. If anyone knows of anyone that might have a couple that I could purchase I would be very appreciative. Thanks

Is there a formula for reel seat placement? I'm building a spinning rod & I've just gone by how my factory rods are setup. Any advise would be appreciated.

Roger, Thanks for the response. After reading everyones responses it looks like your method & the two line static load test will accomplish the same objective. I will give both a try but I'm assuming the two line static test will be easier & quicker to accomplish the task at hand as I can just slide the guides on with tubing or rubber bands then adjust them with the line going through

Below are links to 4 photo's of the dropshot rod I'm setting up. Do you think I need to add one more guide to running guide?

Thanks for the response. I guess I should slow down & read the instructions carefully. Total brain fart on my side as I measured from the tip to the spool axle instead of the butt to the spool axle. Everything is good now. Thanks for responding.

I've only built a few rods but this will be my first using the KL-H guides. I've entered all the information into the software & this is what it came up with. Can someone explain how to take this information & convert it into inches so I know where to put the guides? Am I assuming correctly that the stripper guide is to be at 19" in front of the spool axle? If that's correct I'm jus

Well I received all my components to start my build. I order the 16H, 8H, 5.5M for the reduction guides & I'm really surprised at how small they are.

Jim, Did you stay with the 5.5 over the 4.5 or 4 to give you more options if you were to up your line size? The largest line size I'll be usuing on this rod is 10lb braid & 8lb flouro.

Thanks Jim. The 2500 & 3000 reels are the same size reel with just a different spool capacity. What size running guides do you go with?
