I also never understood the "theory" that using the reel handle to rotate the bailer until it closes causes line twist. That only closing the bailer by hand won't induce line twist. Maybe these people, pro's included, don't realize that the bailer never touches the line until it closes on it. You could literally rotate and open bailer indefinitely without touching the line at all. So

Some of yall have some intricate methods to your madness. I like it! I use flex coat high build. Mix for 5 minutes, pour out on foil, let sit for 5-10 minutes. While its sitting I use an alcohol burner on the wraps to remove fuzzies and lint. Start at the tip applying finish and work my way towards the grip end with a thin coat, using a heat gun to get saturation. Then I go back to the tip and

The heavier blank may have the same action, but that action might not continue further down the blank as far as the lighter rod. Stiffer back bone. Probably better suited for throwing heavier baits or non-treble baits.

Flex coat UV and threadmaster high build. Flex coat if I'm building for someone else. High build if it's for me. Both produce a great finish, but I can get it done in 1 coat with high build and I don't care if it's isn't perfect.

In my home office. 10x12 room. It's cramped in here since I work from home out of said office. One corner is largely occupied by 4x 27" monitors and 2x 24" monitors, my work and gaming PC's. Another corner is for building custom water cooled gaming PC's. Then I keep a folding 8' table that I set up for doing rods. The wife doesn't mind....until I start applying finish. lol

I use self adherent cohesive medical wrap. 1" wide roll. Cut thin strips about 1/8" off the roll. It's stretchy and sticks to itself, peels off easy with no residue and you can reuse the strips 3-4 times. A 5 foot roll has lasted me a long long time.
