Roger, I tend to agree with you. I have checked wires and all are intact and power supply is good as nothing has changed in my work shop that would effect power supply, But thanks to those who suggested I check. I will contact Batson on Monday to see if they can help me, other wise I have a huntin buddy who is an electrical guru Thanks again to all who replied!! "Bent rods to ya" Dar

Scott, I had same issue on my last build (Sturgeon Rod) Was told by AW that they no longer carry and were unavailable. I finally bought an American Tackle Company reel seat from Mud Hole. Price is comparable and I think they have a few more choices when it come to combination of colors. I bought 3 of them and last build was very nice. Check it out!! "Bent Rod to ya" Darrel

Fellow builders, I am having problems with my Forecast drying motor. It is in combo with a separate wrapping motor tied to an Alps chuck uggrade. The problem is the drying motor changes (direction) rotation for no reason. I have loosened the mounting screws, which seems to help. I also change the drive belt (O Ring). The multi drive pulley will not tighten securely to the shaft of drive motor. T

Guys, Need some advice on how to center my cork pieces when reaming them out. I use a drill with the Alps reamers and do it by hand with each piece. However some of them are not centered, making my job of shaping handle more difficult. ANY advice would be helpful!! Thanks "Bent Rods to ya" Darrel from CA.

Paul, I have done a few cord wraps recently, My opinion is this, I use flexcoat thread sealer generously on the cord. This helps bond the cord to rod in addition to the type glue you use. (I use two ton epoxy) Then to finish I use a Clear wood lacquer from a spray can bought at my local Ace Hardware. I agree with Nick as I to, think that the Atwood cord is much better, It is stiffer and has 2 mor

Thanks everybody, some GREAT ideas here. The aluminum fore grip sounds good, however I think the metal to metal might not have a holding power needed, But You have given me an idea to use leather as a front grip and have it installed at a saddle shop near by. I will go there today. Just so you know he wants to fish steelies in Northern CA, from the bank. The spinning rod I'm building is a 7.2&quo

All, Anybody ever build a rod for a person with a prosthetic arm/hand (hook). My good friend loves to fish and wants to take up bank fishing (only fished from a boat in the past) I need to figure out a way of keeping the rod from twisting as he turns the crank. His hook can really tear up a fore grip in just one trip. We use a rail plate (OLD SCHOOL I KNOW<BUT IT WORKS) when boat fishing to ke
