So looks like one of my favorite stripper guides, Fuji TRVAG, is being discontinued . I am looking for a replacement, I'm torn on either KBAG or KWAG. MH bass rods....I typically go 6, 5.5, (8) 5 and tip. Thanks in advance. Jon

So last seat I installed I had some issues getting the bore straight.....unfortunately I can't recall who suggested using regular drill bits first but that did the trick this time. Good stuff...thanks. Jon

So I am fairly new to this forum so I am a bit unclear about some rules. I had a post deleted recently regarding an issue I had with a product. I had no intent to "bash" the product, I was simply sharing an experience with fellow builders. I have no ill feelings and I expect no issue in getting the problem resolved. In my opinion both good and bad experiences should be shared. Thou

Spoiler alert here....that gorgeous titanium finish is no more.....they changed the color a bit. Little darker with a spot of green in it.

David I looked several times and several websites with no luck. If you are referring to the MHX Winn grips I can't get past the neon green! LoL

Norm, the issue I am running into is that I don't have access to any shop that carries rod building supplies so I am attempting to make choices without having to buy a bunch of blanks.

Norm, my last build was Winn grips with ACS seat and I was happy with it....I just love the look and feel of the SK2 though....I bought an EVA rear grip just in case. I wouldn't mind figuring out how to make my own Winn grips though...lol

Tim..... I just finished a 7'2" Medium Immortal and you are correct it felt more like a MH. I also built a 6'8" Medium and it felt much closer to what I am used to. I wound up ordering a 6'9" MH Eternity for my heavy cover plastics.

I may have mentioned this before but I am really disappointed in the lack of options for the casting rear grips. Big fan of the Winn grips but they only have one grip that fits and it's only about 2 1/2", did they make the grip for toddler size hands? Not sure which way to go....change to EVA or change reel seats, but I am very frustrated.

So it has been difficult to get an answer though my searches. I am curious which is a "better" blank. MHX HM are lighter an significantly cheaper than the Eternity. Hard to decide and I don't want to start throwing money around to find the right rod.

So I'm new to the rod building scene...I'm a bass fisherman and was intrigued by the though of being able to make it how I want it. I can say for certain I will never buy another store brand from this point on. As far as saving money...I know in the bass world I can save close to $100 on higher end rods and have a better product that is made just the way I like it. My price point has been c

Chuck....I offered a new rod and he turned me down, he said he wanted a 7' rod anyway...LoL Also we did discuss the handle I let him know how long it would be...he told me he wanted a short "grip" which I gave him, however his idea of a grip was the handle so there was a misunderstanding there.

So although my client loves the look, components and weight of the rod....he is unhappy with the length of the handle. Rod was is a 7'2" that is being used for open water trap casting so I gave him an 11" handle to help with the casting. He is looking for a 9" handle. I'm going to cut down the butt to accommodate his request, although I told him I would only take 1 1/2" off.

Bad news in my eyes from Batson..... The new paint job has a little tint of green in it (to my eyes, which might be the blue you’re seeing). The previous had a little more “sparkle” to it

I’ve found out they went through a minor paint change but looking at the old paint verses the new one it’s very minimal. (the paint changed within the last year).

Are they actually a thing or is it just a size determination...for example if I order a Fuji KT in a size 4 is that now a micro guide?

Well at least it is for me.... So I have high hats in the basement, as I was tying the guides on I noticed the light reflection on the top of the blank....turns out that the light shining straight down on the blank creates a shine on the very top of the blank which makes the PERFECT tool to alignment of the guides! I took four different blanks down there and the behavior is the same on each...
