Good evening I am planning on purchasing a ALPS Chuck, i was wondering if this will have the power to turn cork and eva or should I just purchase a seperate lathe i wont be doing this alot just here and there. also is the pac bay tool rest and mandrel enough or should I just get the Alps tool rest as well as the mandrle as well just getting started dont want to spend money and have to upgrade.

just starting with tiger wrap, what colors work best? I want to accent my rod with a red tiger wrap have a black graphite colored rod blank. should I have a base laver of thread? also do you sacrafice one thread on top and if so what color? thanks again for everyones help.

tried to do a tiger wrap tonight, I was having problems with the tension on said three threads. i have an amerrican tackle power wrapper, with a two spool, but I tried to wrap on a modified mudhole hand wrapper setup what is the best way to do a tiger wrap. Good evening, I just purchased the Visual wrap software and Billy Vivona book from Mudhole has anyone used this? I purchased some holographic 1/8 inch band to do butt wraps should I use straight thread epoxy on these or first treat them with CP i have already done my wrap and have them tied off I noticed there is a lot of raised areas would I need a couple of coats of CP or just add more thread epoxy thanks for the help

Thanks for the input, i noticed when I put the color preserver on it made certain spots look darker then others and the thread was packed tight Hey as with everything practice makes perfect.

I am just starting to build rods and I have a question that hopefully can be anwered. I have just wrapped a rod with mudhole tigerthread. I applied color preserver on the thread before I added the thread finish.
