For those that can't bare to sink a few more bucks into another electric motor. Motor RPM 6, Glass RPM 15. It's a bit slow and rudementary; but there's room for improvement.

I've been trying to get the Forhan wrap, but I think I'm failing at some point. The wrap just doesn't look right. Any other feedback is appreciated as well, guide prep, general wrapping.
Thanks,
Justin

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm not totally decided on what to do with it yet. I like the look, but on a couple of guides I can see a small amount of air sealed in the tunnel. I suppose the correct way to ensure the tunnels are filled is to start at the toe of the guide foot and work my back. It's the little things that nobody will notice, but me and those in the know, that make the ro

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it.
I'm building my second rod, first with FC Lite though. I just applied it (apparently in too thick of a fashion) and it looks great, with just one coat. Is there anything wrong with applying only one coat of lite?
Thanks,
Justin

Bad meaning, the thread comes right off the guide leg and back to the blank; this creates a large gap that looks poor. I

Josh,
Thanks for the feedback. I checked the other rings and of course there's one other ring with a crack in it. I glued the grip with titebond III, I think I'll just smear a bit in the two cracks, clamp it, and call it good.
Thanks again!

I did a search on this and I don't think my problem is as drastic as some of the others. I am thinking about not fixing this problem; but here is the issue. I am just finishing a grip made from burl cork (this is the first time I've made a grip); while pulling the cork off the mandrel I noticed a crack in one of the rings. The crack/separation extends 1/3 the OD of the ring, along one of the n

First post....This is the best and most respectful forum I've ever read, regardless of topic. Kudos to the participants and moderator.
I'm building my second fly rod, (the last was about 10 yrs ago) and I've been thinking about putting a burl grip on the new one. Having read a few threads on the subject, this one in particular, I have a few questions about the arbor idea.
First, are th
