Patrick, Several things 1) in Dan's 2005 catalog Sig V blanks were described as 'Matte sanded (M) or Spiral (S) finish'. Spencer's note provides a technical description that links my use of 'unsanded' to the true description of 'Spiral' (per Dan's catalog). 2) The 'Spiral' finish has a clear finish on the (unsanded) blank surface. You might look at Coats and Clark twisted threads - Oriental Navy, or Blue Phlox - neither is blue/black, but I think Oriental Navy (light blue/navy blue) looks quite sophisticated. I think the your answer depends on which blue you need. Martin

Joe, I recently purchased a Rainshadow surf blank for my own use from FishSticks4U. I was pleased with the blank, and impressed with the service.
