ok......i'm lazy. but i also have limited bandwith each month so its easier to ask than search and use it up. i am looking for a rod dryer that mounts on the wall, similiar to the FC pro 4 rod dryer. a single rod dryer is fine. why wall mounted? space. i run finish at a fairly fast speed and want to pop it out and pop it into the dryer and carry on with another. thanks

i always let it turn a min. of 12 hours. overkill maybe but what else has the rod got to do with its time?

worked like a charm! on my renzetti i now have a foot controlled variable speed wrapper, constant speed finish applier, and dryer, the speed of which i can set. rheostat cost $30 on amazon delivered.

thanks. i looked at 3 other suppliers i buy from and didn't find it. amazing how lazy the internet has made me. i order from mudhole all the time.

exactly. i could do away w/the foot pedal for applying finish at a higher rpm then simply dial it down for drying. then when i want to wrap, take off the rheostat and add the foot pedal. at least, thats the plan.

i HOPE i am not hijacking this thread but i have a similar concern. on my renzetti, i have started applying finish at a high speed (to me anyways) with the foot control. however its a hit and miss thing. i need a constant steady speed, independant of my foot. tell me about the "speed control" mentioned above please. is this a rheostat? thanks

thanks for all the replies. rather than addressing all the responses individually i will just have at it.
cooling the room is not an option. its small, 8'x20', brick, and a metal roof. the only way to further cool it would be a very expensive portable AC and my electric bill is already thru the roof trying to keep it liveable. people laugh when i tell em i water down the house/roof everyday arou

i know this topic has probably been beat to death but after running 2 searchs i came up empty handed. here in south texas it ain't exactly cold. the felt temp. was 118 deg. the other day. my rod building/reloading room stays at around 90 deg. despite two fans. i put some D2 finish on some thread today and it got gooey in a hurry. had to do two batches to finish a 7.5' rod. after it was on i thinn

i am on my 4th wood lathe, having downsized from a full size to a midi over the years. i also have a renzetti. there is no way a renzetti can be used as a wood turning lathe, unless you only use it for sanding small light pieces. i just finished two grips, a 10" and a 12" in from wood, both in a tri color indian blanket design. i'm certainly no expert, but having turned pens, bowels, pe

1. where do you get threaded on the ends mandrels? other than allthread or pen making mandrels.
2. if i'm reading this right, if i am making a grip with 12 cork rings, i would need to make 12 bushings?

i make bass, catfish, panfish, trout, fly, and a few surf rods. 99% for family/relatives and they all want a diff. size blank. especially dia. wise. some want to horse em in and others want to finese em in. i want the ID of the cork and wood pieces to match as close as possible to the OD of the mandrel so eliminating as much handle ID clean up/sizing as possible. i have arthritis in my left thum
