Hello there;
I'm new to this rodbuilding thing, and have enjoyed every minute spent building two rods for myself.
I am currently working on the third, and was wondering how I might be able to make my own decals or labels?
Also, how much time do most of you spend building a single rod? I'm not yet ready to jump into the fire , but there is enough interest from friends and others to build rods

Thanks for all the info ,I will definately try the old rod experimenting.
I can probably find some old rods right here at home to play with, (My wife is pretty convinced that I have plenty of them), I'll have to do some digging around in the shed.
Go Fishing; And enjoy The Solitude!

HELLO ALL;
I'M NEW TO ROD BUILDING, AND HAVE FOUND IT TO BE AN ENJOYABLE WAY TO PASS TIME. I'VE BUILT A COUPLE OF RODS FOR MYSELF, AND AM ACUALLY PRETTY IMPRESSED WITH THE OUT COME SO FAR, HOWEVER I STILL HAVE A LOT TO LEARN AND PROBABLY MANY FUTURE QUESTIONS.
FOR MY FIRST QUESTION, CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THERE IS A WAY TO COLOR ROD BLANKS, THAT WILL NOT NOTICABLY AFFECT THE ACTION OF IT ?
