Lathe Plans?

Hello again;
I have found that this forum is a great source for information. It's nice to know that there is always someone willing to help solve problems, and answer questions.
Again; I am new to building rods, and have that it can provide a lot of personal satisfaction and enjoyment. I have had a lot of my beginner's questions answered just by searching this forum, others you have answered for me.
One topic, however , I have not been able to find is that of building a rod lathe. Does anyone have plans ,or ideas on building a lathe (to be powered by an electric drill). I will, mostly be using it to shape cork grips, but may do some light wood handle work also.
Thanks for your help, and for providing a great source for expert advice!

The Volume 8 #4 RodMaker due out this summer will have a very nice photo layout of a machine that Doug Cox built. It's surprisingly straightforward yet quite elaborate at the same time.

In the meantime, there were plans for a power wrapper in the volume 7 #6 issue of RodMaker. And, there are plans for a simple hand wrapper in the online library here.

The Grizzley hoppy lathe, with Andy Dear's mandrels, is an excellant, and inexpensive) setup for doing cork/EVA. Very popular with builders

Ok - that Grizzley lathe looks just like what I'm looking for - is there a 3 or 4 leg self centering chuck available for a drill with this setup?

You could use one of the self-centering chucks from Taig Tools and have a 3/4 inch threaded rod turned down on one end to fit in your drill.

O.K.; the grizzly lathe looks promising, and easier too.
Thanks Mike.
