Revelations are very good blanks. You can use the money you save and upgrade the components. You will be happy.

Rainshadow RCLB series. I built a RCLB 70 XL that I use for fishing 1/2 day to overnight night boats here on the west coast. It's handled everything from small bass to 25 lb yellow fin. Very durable and sensitive for fly lining live bait. Nice price too. Also look at Phenix M1 inshore series, I've heard a lot of good thing about those.

Plan on using long 25# mono topshot and 50# braid backing. Since it is such a large reel I may go to a 7 1/2 to 8' rod.
Thank you for the help.

Looking to build a saltwater spinning rod using Fuji KW guides and would like suggestions for the stripper guide size. The rod will be a 7' extra fast, 20-40 lb line rating. reel will be an Okuma Raw II 80.
I cannot seem to get the Fuji GPS to show the data on my computer.
Thank You.

Rainshadow RCLB series, I've built several and love them all. The RCLB 79ML is my favorite for Yellow tail and school tuna. RCLB 70 xl is good calico stick.

I did a repair on a nrx casting rod and the recoil guides that matched were the single foot spinning guides in sizes 6 and 7, not the micro casting guides.

It would be mostly inshore species Bass, bonito and barries, from a boat. Want something that the kids can use and have enough backbone to keep the fish away from the sealions.
Thanks for the responses

Looking to build my first saltwater spinning rod, 7', 15# - 20# line. Would Alps MXN, Fuji bmnag, ATC typhoon be a good choice for guides or would you suggest something else?
Thank You.

Is there a formula where you can calculate the size of the winding check so you can order it at the same time as the blank?
