I am looking for a 7 pc. 8 1/2' 5wt blank, but am having trouble finding much. This rod will be rarely used, with the ability to pack it into a very small space being its primary quality. A lower priced blank is highly preferred, and I'm willing to adjust to whatever rod actions are available. Any suggestions?? THANKS!!!

While obtaining bait in Baja, an adjacent panga collided with our panga, also hitting my rod (Calstar 700M) which was in a rod holder. I am planning to build a 4 pc, 6wt, faster action fly rod and am looking at durability as a primary concern. I am likely overly cautious when it comes to fish fighting/landing but would like all the help I can get in preventing my rods from breaking. I know that most companies will go out of their way to replace a broken rod section, but that won’t do me much good when I am out on a river.

I have built about a dozen rods over the last couple of years and did not put decals on any of them. I would like to do so now (while I can still remember the details). I would rather not mix a batch of epoxy finish (which I used for the rods) for each decal application. I only have the capacity to dry one rod at a time. I want to build a 4 piece 7' 6" or 7' 9" 3wt fly rod and am looking for blank recommendations.
