Military Service Ribbon Rod

Just thought I would pass this along. One of my old Navy buddies gave me this idea and I build a rod for him using this theme. Many service members have aquired service ribbons while in the military. I have just build a rod using the colors of each ribbon under each guide. The rod was a 8' live bait rod and I could put on nine different underwraps representing each ribbon earned. Customer was very happy and so was I. Just thought I would pass along the idea.

Many someone has already done this. but, it was new to me.

Thanks
Anthony Rossillo

Another way to decorate a military person's rod-
A rodbuilder in San Diego, Bud Ettel, one of the finest rodbuilder's I've ever met, did gold metallic weaves of Navy wings and other Navy insignia on rods which looked really sharp-I'm sure this could be done for other branches of the service also.

Anthony,
Excellent idea, and just to pass along my friend Coach Paul Bagby built a 'freedom rod' after the sept. 11 aftermath. The idea he spurred to @#$%& the rod for funds to go to the fireman's fund.
To make a long story short, the rod had the patriotic color themes to match the freedom concept, and the rod is so appreciated to a group of fishermen in his area that can almost get one choked up about it's purpose and effect. (freedom)

Going beyond this theme, one can also visualize satisfying others as to their favorite colors for sport teams, boats, etc. Use your imagination, also the personalization aspect of an organization or corporation name or insignia on the rod? These are favorites to intice for furthering custom rod sales. One of a kind...that's really the theme here and truly custom.

These are excellent ideas. the military ribbon rod has to be awesome. Need to see some pictures of this. Thanks Rich. The fella who bought the Freedom Rod has set it up to be used by others in the area.
The fire dept in my neighbor hood still remembers who I am and always speaks to me when we pass.
Also, you sports fans can do rods in college colors. The 2 main color schemes in my area are blue/orange and garnet/gold. Gators and 'Noles.
