If you are useing Spar Varnish I recomend not to use U40, I would suggest Varathane 900 or Guderod 811.. I also would suggest not use CP ... Thanks Davesrods Re: U-40 color lock ?

What type of rod are you working with? The procedure you ask about would be a bit odd for any graphite or fiberglass rod. With a bit more info we can give you a better idea of the best way to proceed. .................... Re: U-40 color lock ?

Not doing any rod at the moment. Would really like some advice on how to go about doing old,but not so old graphite or fiberglass blank restoration and or painting. What would be the best methods for this? I have several rods needing redone and I have lots of time. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
