Will be starting my surf rod soon, was wondering if anyone has field tested the new Fuji Low riders yet. Another question is how will it compete against the New concept line.? Re: Fuji Low Rider

I've seen them and they are sleek and slick! But I have not used them yet. They look strong. Re: Fuji Low Rider

These are heavy framed for their size. I recommend the IC finish over the chrome. No more wind knots and less possbility of tangling the line on the guides at the tip. The concept in New Concept has more to do with guides sizing and spacing and less to do with the style of guide. I believe that Fuji's prepackaged LowRiders already follow the New Concept sizing and it's up to you to get the optimal spacing. Re: Fuji Low Rider

Felix. I have the Low riders on two of my surf rod for now close to three years. They are indeed major breakthrough in surf rod technology. That's said, one very important thing. The guides are for spinning tackle only. They do not work well with bait reels. If you want to understand how the Low rider works, all you need is to understand how interline concept work. This is the guide set what Fuji's answer to Daiwa's interline series. Do not and I repeat do not follow the new concept, for it is not. You need to follow the low rider spacing or it would not function well. The first guide do need to be reversed and no less than 80 cm from the reel for any rod. And one look you would confirm that this is indeed NO new concept for the first guide's size is only 20, or even 16 in most cases. Not your usual 25 or 30. You should only need 5 guides for most American and European rod (10-12 ft) while the packaged guide set are for Asian surf which are all 3.9 to 4.5M long. Hope this helped. Good fishing (catching) <*)))))))><{ Re: Fuji Low Rider
