I have been using LS 2000 for some time, but am always willing to try something new. What can I expect to be different with LS Supreme? Is it thicker? What are its advantages? Which do you like better and why? Re: LS 2000 vs. LS Supreme

It's everything the 2000 is/was and more! Flows better and is clearer. Still gives up bubbles easily but is just a tad thicker. If you liked the 2000 I'd think you'd have to like the Supreme even more. Since they don't make the 2000 any more you'll have to make the switch sooner or later. Do it now and don't look back! I've been using both just this week on the same rod (in order to use up the LS2000 I have left). The LS Supreme does have some distinct advantages over the LS2000, IMO. Here's what I've noticed: The Supreme is a tad bit thicker. It is also a bit clearer (especially important when using white thread). The thing that I like the best is that it levels unbelievably well, especially over long butt wraps and/or inscription areas. I still consider myself an amateur, especially regarding epoxy application, but the Supreme gave me an incredible finish the first time I used it. I would definitely recommend it to someone just beginning rod building--almost no learning curve at all. I did like the thinner consistency of the 2000 a bit better (minor issue). The only other thing I liked better about the 2000 was the pot life. You could work 2000 forever. Supreme doesn't have quite the pot life. (I suspect that I'm really in the minority here--I think most folks who used LS were looking for a bit shorter pot life.) And, that's easily solved--just mix up some more. Overall, I'd have to say that Supreme is the best (not to mention easiest) finish I've ever used. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
