Guys, from reading the posts it is becoming more & more obvious that the selection of certain supplies you have in US is vastly greater than is available in UK. Not referring to things like blanks, guides etc as I can get them no problem. Finishes ??? I use Flexi-coat plus a UK manufactured finish. Klass coat, what is that used for, threads, whole blank ??? Of course I can get all of these from US but shipping times can be considerable. I dont have a problem in bulk purchases of some of them as I`m commercial but does anybody want to sell?? I`ve been waiting about four weeks just for a w/sale catalogue from Florida and not even a return phone call to date. I am perfectly happy to buy from the sponsors on the left if they are prepared to ship & its all $$$ up front. Thread finishes. what do you guys find best, (not cheapest but best) obviously opinions will differ. Same goes for whole blank finish as most of mine are pre-factory finished but some are unground. Any input would be helpful in selection as it seems the minimal specialist supplies available in Uk puts us, in comparison with US somewhere around the fifteenth or sixteenth century. Stan. Forgot to mention, new rod lathe with tensioners etc complete set up, any suggestions. My existing is in its twentieth year, its done a heck of a lot of rods but, (a bit like myself), its due to go out to grass or at very least relegated to cork turning. Once again $$$$`s up front aint a problem. Stan. Re: Rod supplies.

If money is no object then buy a Renzetti master rod lathe. I'm pretty sure they ship to the U.K. I can't find that much difference between any of the popular epoxy rod wrapping finishes. They all handle just a little differently but they're all very good. LS Supreme is maybe a little clearer and the new hi build version is my current favorite. But you really can't go wrong with any of them. I think KlassCoat is an epoxy paint which you can use for painting blanks but probably not much good for guide wraps. Re: Rod supplies.

Thanks for the response Danny & Larry, wish money was no object but like most others it always is however always ready to pay up front. Will have a look at the Renzetti, and contact AW Danny. Stan. Re: Rod supplies.

Stan, I just moved from a pac bay wrapper to the renzetti. It is by far the best investment I have made. While I am not master at wrapping and rod building it has enabled me to be a better rod builder. THere will not be any buyers remorse if you purchased this tool.
